The mHealth application was awarded a prize on 1 July 2019 by the Pierre Fabre Foundation for its innovative nature in the field of healthcare.
The mHealth project won one of four (4) awards at the annual conference of the Observatoire de la E-Santé dans les Pays du Sud (ODESS2019). The mHealth project is an innovation in the field of health in Burkina Faso.
mHealth is an SMS and Android platform developed to enable health workers to report health information from rural areas to local and national authorities. The aim of the programme is to strengthen the national information system and facilitate decision-making by the health authorities in Burkina Faso's Ministry of Health.
The application is now used by community health workers (CHWs) to transmit treatment data, order inputs and monitor their stock at their health centre. The information circuit, with its feedback, is respected between the head nurses (ICP) and the ASBCs. All the data is integrated into a DHIS2 instance (called ENDOS-BF) and accessible to authorised people in the health pyramid.
